All students in the Primary and Secondary sectors engage in Auslan lessons once per fortnight as a component of their Specialist Program. Delivered by a qualified Teacher of Deaf, students learn about deaf culture and basic sign language covering topics such as;

  • Family – names of people, activities
  • Storytelling – repetitive phrases and rhymes
  • Games – following instructions, counting, mascots, sports
  • Food – preferences, cooking
