Prep - Year 2

Students in the Junior Sector engage in a 3 year cycle of differentiated age equivalent units of work, assessing the Australian Curriculum. Embedded with these units are Age Appropriate Pedagogies that encourage students to explore a range of learning experiences, including accessing community-based learning activities for hands on learning opportunities.

Students engage with learning areas of the Australian Curriculum through modified planning and differentiated teaching and assessment in;

English, Maths, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS), The ARTS, HPE, and Technologies. Languages commences in the Primary Sector in years 3-6, though students are exposed to Auslan key word signing throughout learning experiences.

Individual student communication is a priority to establish and identify a robust communication system (AAC) or Speech language strategies for students to communicate their learning, and to engage socially with peers and familiar staff.
