Prep - Year 2

Students in the Junior Sector engage in a 3 year cycle of differentiated age equivalent units of work, assessing the Australian Curriculum.

Students engage with learning areas of the Australian Curriculum through modified planning and differentiated teaching and assessment in;

English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS), The Arts, Health and Physical Education, and Technologies. Languages commence in the Primary Sector in years 3-6, though students may be exposed to Auslan key word signing throughout learning experiences.

Students in their initial Prep year are formally assessed in English, Mathematics and Health and Physical Education. They experience other learning areas, with identified learning goals. This will be reflected on their Semester report card.

Individual student communication is a priority to establish and identify a robust communication system (AAC) or Speech language strategies for students to communicate their learning, and to engage socially with peers and familiar staff. Partnerships between families, private SLP and school is encouraged to developed consistent communication strategies across learning and home environments. ​
