Middle school

Our Middle School is divided into 2 sectors: Primary and Secondary.

Primary

Year 3 - Year 6

Students in the Primary Sector engage in a 4-year cycle of differentiated age equivalent units, assessing the Australian Curriculum.

Students engage with learning areas of the Australian Curriculum through modified planning and differentiated teaching and assessment in;

English, Maths, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS), The ARTS, HPE, Technologies and Languages. Each term, students engage in two units of work from two different learning areas of the curriculum, providing students with a breadth of learning opportunities.


Individual student communication remains a priority to continue to develop autonomous communication and/or develop Speech language strategies for students to communicate their learning, and to engage socially with peers and adults.

 


Secondary

Year 7 - Year 10

Students in the Secondary Sector engage in a 4-year cycle of differentiated age equivalent units, assessing the Australian Curriculum.

Students engage with learning areas of the Australian Curriculum through modified planning and differentiated teaching and assessment in;

English, Maths, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS), The ARTS, HPE, Technologies and Languages. Each term, students engage in two units of work from two different learning areas of the curriculum, providing students with a breadth of learning opportunities.


Within the Secondary Sector, students are introduced to the TRUE Relationships and Sexual Education program. Transitioning into adolescents brings different challenges for some students. During supportive, small group lessons, student learn about changes happening within their bodies, public and private behaviours, and appropriate relationships.

Parents are welcome to attend Parent and Family sessions with the TRUE facilitators.
